An award, really? And an update

FACT: Brooke loves books. Every morning as soon as we get up and settle down with breakfast and milk, she's already pulling books off the shelf and bringing them to us to read to her. I have to shamefully admit that Vance & I both dread seeing the same books come off the shelf day after day (we've even hidden some of the books around the house, shhh)... we definitely have our favorites and least favorites to read out loud. And it continues throughout the day ... all the way until she falls asleep.

Every year it seems that Vance's birthday celebrations are at least 3 days long. Once it lasted an entire week.. we had a staycation in a hotel in Waikiki for a weekend, went horseback riding, had a surprise party for him and then a dinner later that week... all for one birthday!

This year he was able to golf the day before his birthday and on his actual birthday. We also went out to dinner with his family after golf and he went to a friend's house to hang out after Brooke had fallen asleep. Then on Sunday we had both of our families over for a BBQ.

Aaaand, I am so flattered to have received an award! Woohoo! Thank you so much Caitrin!

1)Why did you start blogging?
I just started blogging to keep updated with pictures and milestones that were happening so quickly when Brooke was young. I'm not good at keeping track of things and I'm not a scrapbooker or a very good organizer, so this seemed the easiest route for me to take. Now I love reading other people's blogs and hearing about their babies and life-- and I especially like fashion blogs.

2)What are your blogging rules?
I had to think about this. I don't think I have too many rules per se, but here are some things I've either noticed I like/dislike about some blogs, or some things I try to adhere to:
-There are blogs who have a trillion followers and constantly ask you to follow them and vote for them on Top Baby Blogs, but never take the time to follow you back or even leave a measley comment on other people's page.
-I try my damned hardest not to judge people on their parenting styles/techniques. I'm not too big a fan on people who believe that because what they did with their children worked, it should work for every other kid too! CIO/Rock to sleep/Co-sleep/Nurse to sleep/Drowsy-but-awake/BF/FF... whatever works for you, works for you.
