Pee my pants flattered-- another award?!

Vance's sister sent me a couple more pictures from the BBQ this weekend at our house:

Doesn't Brooke look SO old in the left picture?! Breaks my heart..

Here are some from today, moments after waking up from her nap

Ever since teaching her how to 'smile' on cue, this is the only face I will get when the camera is facing her. I must be sneaky from here on out!

I've been a busy busy bee folding cranes for Nicky's upcoming wedding. Though the wedding is not until December, her cranes are 'due' next month. FYI, it is Japanese tradition for the bride to fold 1000 cranes to bring a good and happy marriage. I have also heard that the folding will teach the bride the patience she needs in order to make a good wife. Traditionally, the groom folds ONE crane, to make the total 1001 cranes. The crane is known to mate for life. You can read more about it here. Or you can google it and read more about it.

Vance & I actually ended up folding MORE than 1000 cranes for our wedding. We started off by folding gold cranes and discovered VERY late into folding that the paper we bought was too big for the vendor to mount. So ... we had to refold our cranes. :(

I've already folded 200 of Nicky's cranes and in order to help her cram to make her deadline, offered to help fold another 200. I better be one patient b!tch at the end of this!

Top picture and bottom left picture are what the crane looks opened. The bottom right picture is the crane, closed & how it is mounted.

Our cranes

I'm embarrassed to admit that we had to pull this out from the bottom of our storage closet just to take this picture. We don't hang it up in our house or anything!

And finally, Megan awarded us with these. Actually, I'm not sure if we were awarded with both, so please let me know which we were awarded so I can delete the other!!

I have to lose a few cool points here and mention how effing stoked I am that people not only read my random musings and scroll through our pictures, but that you actually like our blog! Extremely flattered!

So here goes, 10 things about meeeee:
1- I weigh myself stark naked every morning. Clothes HAVE to add at least 5 pounds, right?
2- I am so undomesticated, it isn't even funny. I don't cook (at.all), hate cleaning (dishes are the WORST-- but I do 'em anyway) and could care less about if things 'match' in our house. Everything is pretty much a big mish-mash of things I've bought from Walmart, Target and Macy's. I lack serious style. Our bathroom is all white and tan, with an old lady print shower curtain (flowery and girly) and a leopard print hand towel. [Oh, and about cooking-- I look up recipes I think sound good, buy the ingredients and Vance prepares it when he gets home from work. Score!]
3- I've been told by the people closest to me that I'm too laid-back and easy-going. My mom and Vance say people walk over me because of this.
4- I love all things Southern (country music, houses, southern belles, cowboys) & French (culture, art, food, scenery... dying to visit one day)
5- Every day I think of moving to the mainland.
6- I'm terrified to admit this, but I have no idea what I want to be when I "grow up". Even though I have my MA in Counseling Psychology.
7- Random pet peeve- I hate when girls wear tops so tight that you can see their belly button through it.
8- People tell me that my handwriting looks like a computer font. I, like most people, hate my handwriting.
9- I hate taking naps and rarely do unless I'm feeling sick. Usually if I take a nap, Vance will ask me, "what's wrong?" This means I got my @$$ kicked when Brooke was born and had her days and nights mixed up
10- Like most 'typical 'girls, I looooove walking around malls (even better if I have money to buy myself or Brooke something), eating out at new restaurants, buying magazines and reading celebrity gossip!
WHEW. That was really hard. Took me over 3 hours to finish. (No, I didn't sit here thinking about 10 things about myself-- I had dinner, blogged, folded cranes, blogged, etc)
Now to pass on the award:
1. Taylor @ The Undomestic Momma
2. Carissa @ lowercase letters
3. Jessica @ Tart
4. Caitrin @ From Shopping Bags to Diaper Bags
5. Laura @ Cowboy Boots & Baby Booties

Thanks again Megan!
