My brother in law recently went to a bachelor party which was very stereotypical ... think STRIPPERS. Yuck. What do you think is a good idea for a bachelor party? Did your hubs go to the strip club, Vegas or something similar? did you have a bachelorette party?
(2) My girl is turning into a real beach bum. This time we took her to CHUN'S, which was beautiful.
(4) I have a cousin I wish I could read this to. She is growing up way too fast ... and not in the best way possible.

My husband did not have a traditional bachelor party. Thankfully he wouldn't go for the stripper theme even if he did have one. Totally skeezy. I had a bachelorette party but it was basically like an old fashioned slumber party eating good food in our comfy clothes - perfect if you ask me!
ReplyDeleteHow to keep kids from growing up to fast? This plagues me too-trying my best to keep my boys little :)
Aw I just watched the latest Reese movie! Love her. She looks so happy, hopefully it lasts :)
ReplyDeleteMy hub's bach night included HOCKEY & pepsi. That's fun to them and I'm totally okay with that...
My hubby's BP was pretty low key. Him and two buddies went to a really nice steakhouse (The Strip House, which is beyond fab), and then they went to a Houston Astros baseball game (they had really nice suite seats).
ReplyDeleteMy BP was in San Antonio with my best friends. We stayed at a really nice hotel, had dinner on The Riverwalk, then dancing at a club. We all managed to stay out of trouble. =)
And ummm, yeah, I'm totally jealous of where you live- NOT FAIR!!!!
My husband's bachelor party wasn't bad at all. He and his friends went deep sea fishing during the day and then went to a restaurant to eat dinner. After dinner they went to a few bars to get some drinks and that's pretty much it!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute in her little bathing suit! And I've never had Dole whip, but every time you mention it I want some. For my husband's bachelor party they spent the weekend at a cabin in VT, canoeing and golfing. None of that stereotypical stripper stuff. Gross!
ReplyDeleteYour little girl is adorable! The hubs and I both had our bachelor/bachelorette parties in Vegas. In two totally different months, I should clarify. Not at the same time. Eww. And Reese is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteDying to try that Dole Whip...LOL! You little peanut is too cute. It is great that she loves the beach. And not sure why kids are growing up so fast....but it is scary!!
ReplyDeleteI love Reese too and being from Alabama, Sweet Home Alabama is one of my favorite movies as well!
ReplyDeleteThat letter/note hit home. Kayla is 11 and in 6th grade. They really are growing up so much quicker than we ever did. I remember riding bikes and playing in the woods when I was her age. Barbies was still part of my weekdays as well as Tiny Toons! We have made compromises with her to keep peace. She's allowed to do eye makeup and some gloss but nothing on the heavy side at all. She has a Facebook but I monitor it almost daily. I have to approve her friend requests and I watch what her friends put on her wall and vice versa. She has deleted a few friends on her own account because of bad language. I forbid her to have a cell phone until she starts 9th grade OR she gets involved with something that involves her having to stay after school at anytime.
Your little one is precious in her little swimsuit! That beach is just gorgeous!
1. I LOVE your blog Lori. You keep it insanely real and it's very refreshing :)
ReplyDelete2. My hubs had his BP in Vegas with 17 other guys. They did the whole "bottle service, drunk every night, stripper" thing. I was LIVID at first, but then calmed down because of all the guys that went, he's def the "good one" haha. I wish he'd taken my advice and just gone sky diving with the fellas, play a round of golf, maybe go out to a club. But whatever. It's done and will NEVER happen again lol.
3. My sister in law is 12 and is growing up too fast. I def feel you on the whole "stay young" thing...I was still climbing trees and playing with barbies back then.
4. Brooke is such a cutie patootie!!
Lori, thanks for your sweet comment. I am a new follower. I can't wait to read more about your journey. LOOOVE your little girl! She is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Reese's wedding photos. She's so gorgeous! Your daughter is such a cutie. The beach looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI want to see her wedding too!! and I promise I'm working on your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the letter to tween girls you posted...it's a scary world out there. I have a friend who taught 3rd grade and she says the kids already talk about having sex with each other. What is the world coming to?
ReplyDeleteAlso - Reese was a gorgeous bride!
Your little girl is so pretty.
ReplyDeletePersonally, if the man I married ever attended or had a bachelor party with strippers involved, I would question if I even wanted to marry him at all. It's just not something I think is EVER appropriate, especially if you're getting ready to marry someone!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little beach bunny :)
ReplyDeleteaw her little bathing suit is so adorable! and no,no bachelorette or bachelor party for us! just wedding showers ;)
ReplyDeletehappy tuesday!
Wow, late to the party :)
ReplyDeleteCullen also did a bachelor party in Vegas with the whole gigantic 3-bdrm suite, bottle service, etc, etc. They say there were no strippers and I believe them. I guess. Haha. No, but really, Eaton knows I would kill him (and then Cullen and Regan) if there were strippers.
I think that each couple is the only one who can judge what they find acceptable for their SO to do at his/her bachelor party. No one on the outside knows what their relationship is like, so to each their own, I believe.
As for mine, I flew to LA for a small one with my college friends, then flew to Miami for a girls weekend with my 2 MOHs. It was awesome and relaxing :)
And DOLE WHIP. Lucky.
PS - I love B's hair up in a clip like that!
Seriously. Your little girl is SO CUTE!
ReplyDeletethe beach looks insane! can't wait to be there soon! how i love reese! her wedding dress-so flippin cute~
ReplyDeleteI love Reese too!! She is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteWow, the beach is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHubbs didn't have a bachelor party, I urged him to, but he doesn't have many close guy friends and doesn't like partying. I on the other hand love partying and had a huge bachelorette party. Super fun! No strippers though ;)
