It's a Japanese restaurant where you cook everything in a broth that is located on your table. It's known as "shabu shabu" and it is absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying this kind of food and I loved it.
The entrance of the restaurant -- the tables are located in little cubicle-like seating

One table

Sassy pants exploring

The 'stove' where you cook your own food

Broth (my mom's on the upper part of the bowl) and mine on the lower part [mines was a little spicy]

The food -- vegetables, chicken, mushroom and ground pork/chicken-- you dump all of this ito the boiling broth and it cooks on its own. Deeeelicious!

Cooking

Oh, absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back and take Vance to try it!

we love shabu shabu and eat at a place by our house all the time. We took a break when our kids were at a grabby toddler age, but we're back on now that they are growing up a bit. That's awesome you can take your little girl. :-)

Yum, I love that stuff! I couldn't trust Adrian there though. Not yet ready for ER visit #2!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so cool and yummy! I've never seen anything like that before. I wonder if they have something similar in Texas, probably not.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about going to a restaurant and still having to be the one to cook ;) I'll have to trust you on that one but it definitely sounds like it TASTES good! Sounds like some great "girl time" too, I need to schedule me some soon.
