We took my girl to the carnival

Yesterday Vance and I decided to take Brooke to the carnival, which she would spot as we were passing it on the freeway. I told her that it was a circus, as in Olivia Saves the Circus, so she was really excited.

We played a few games, then decided to test out the rides, and let me tell you, my girl is a little daredevil. She proclaimd that she wanted to go on the "wee" and when I saw what "wee" she was talking about, my heart sunk a little. I felt deep in my heart that she would get to the top and freak out, so I let Vance take her up there. He said she cried a bit at the top because a stranger had to carry her to get into the potato sack, but once they were in there... she laughed.

We walked around the fair,

played more games,

ate dinner,

and actually saw a mini-circus. Halfway through the performances, little lady looks at me with her big brown eyes and says, "almost done?" So we left early..

Then we posed for a few pictures,

& took another trip back to the rides. Little lady chose the cars next, which sound innocent, but would whip around the corner as it was going around the track. She loved it all the way up to the moment when she didn't. Luckily the ride came to an end soon after.

Then came the dragons (waiting in line),

some cotton candy (my FAVE!)

& loads and loads of USELESS JUNK we'll never play with again!

All in all, it was a great night. Can't wait until next year!

Counting

For quite some time now, little lady has reached twenty in her counting vocab. Of course every time I turn on the video camera, she goes "NO NO COUNT!" Luckily I was able to get her going up until 16 (granted, 13-19 all sound the same, but she seems to be keeping track because after what should be 19, she exclaims TWENY!)

Here she is :)

A trip to the doctor

My girly & I trekked off to the doctor for her two year well-baby check up. She's at the age where she already knows the doctor is not always a pleasant experience, even if she gets a sticker at the ed of the appointment!

She tried to get away with playing outside for quite some time

Finally got her inside! Got weighed (something around 32lbs) & measured and then headed into the office where there were TOYS to play with! [Girly is no longer off the charts for weight OR height, but is in the 95 percentile for BOTH! Yowzas, what a healthy little girl]

Shake, shake, shake!

Open?

Finally ... a fake smile moments before the doctor walked in!

Brooke has had a runny nose and a little bit of a cold for the past week, which I chalked up to going to Tiny Tots where all of the kids seem to continually pass around runny noses and coughs. Well, it was a huge surprise to me when the doctor announced that she has double ear infection and a yeast infection! Sounds disgusting right? Probably due to the fact that she's been going to the pool and playing outside in our pool in her swim diapers. Also another reason why the diaper rash cream I've been religiously applying has not done ANYTHING. Doctor informed me: bumpy rash = diaper rash, red all over = yeast infection. Welp, after one shot and a teary toddler later, I tried to cheer my girl up by taking her to eat her favorite thing ever: noodles!

Headed off to Ichiben, where they have delicious saimin (ramen) dishes and fried rice with garlic chips on top...

Yummmy

Watching her Mickey Mouse and the choo choo train... at random points she will YELL out "ALL ABOARD!"-- pretty funny and embarrassing!

My family and I went to eat at a fancy restaurant to celebrate my mom's retirement so I can post those pictures later :)

1. I want to do this to our hammock!

2. I love this idea for invitations or cards

3. Praise God!

Thoughts on Thursday

Hello all. This morning I skipped Tiny Tots and let Vance take Brooke while I sat in the dentist's chair for an hour and a half getting drilled. My dentist thankfully has a little contraption (a little head gear) that allows you to watch movies while you're getting fillings, so I was able to watch The Wedding Planner for the fifteenth time. Unfortunately she doesn't have the greatest movie selection. Now I'm extra numb on my right side of my face and look a little crazy so I'm at home blogging while my pups sleep around me.

Did you all watch the Oprah finale(s)? I watched all three days and kept thinking back to watching with my mom, then by myself in college and so on. I loved Kristin Chenoweth's performance of For Good-- and then they performed it on gLee! Thrilled. Wish I could see the actual Broadway performance.

Then the American Idol finale. Okay, so I haven't really been following American Idol too much, but I usually tune in to the finale. I loved it. First Casey & Jack Black perform Fat Bottom Girls by Queen (my all-time favorite band), then TLC performs Waterfalls, and last but MOST CERTAINLY not least, Tim McGraw performs?! I died. He was looking good last night, huh?

Kim Kardashian & her 20.5 carat engagement ring. TWENTY POINT FIVE. I am allllll for flashy, big engagement rings, but really?! When is it too much?

Based off of Sometimes Sweet book recommendation, I bought it off of my Nook and finished it in one day. It was a great & easy read, similar to The Hunger Games. Check it out if you're looking for something new! I'm actually really looking forward to the next book of the series!

i feel like death

Hey all. Let it be known that I do not workout. I don't run, or walk, or secretly do push-ups before bed. I wasn't always like this though. In high school I played soccer, ran cross-country (!!!), ran track and paddled. Two miles was a walk in the park. Fast forward 10ish years and I can't even walk a mile.

I stumbled across this 100 workout on pinterest and thought, great! This sounds amazingly easy. Jumping jacks?! I used to do that in PE in elementary! Crunches? No prob. Leg lifts? Easy peasy.

HA. I will admit that I was going to knock off "run 10 minutes" because, let's get real here. Welp, I'm halfway through this crazy workout (stuck on the 70 leg lifts-- I've done 60 so far and I'm ashamed to admit I googled "how to do a leg lift") and I'm ready to quit.

This is hugely embarrassing, but you darned 100 workout, you are kicking my @$$.

What do you do to keep in shape? To lose a few pounds? Cut carbs? I need HELP.

And motivation!

Miscellany Monday (10)

Have a second? Would you click the thumbs up button for me? You can do it once a day (I think)

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Linking up today!

(1) two pictures from (almost) exactly a year ago

Brooke loving her backpack from Aunty Christine and Kaya, who gifted her the cute cherry dress this year! Such a lucky girl to have family who spoils her (and who has great taste, hehe)

My girly and I played in the living room

(2) Mommies who allow their kiddos to watch TV -- what is UP with Yo Gabba Gabba?! It is such an INTERESTING show to say the least!

(3) Christine got me hooked on pinterest, which is just like tumblr but better. I laughed out loud with this. (And I may change tumblr thursday to pinterest thursday)

(4) Can you believe this crazy hat sold for $130,000.00?! At least the craziness went to charity!

(5) also, it's probably the teeny bopper that still live within me, but I think Justin Beiber and Selena Gomez are the cutest couple ever.

Random links on a Saturday

This article on 5 things Mom Should Not Post On Facebook rings true for so many people on my FB list

Even though I'm not PG, I still love thinking about baby names. I have a girl name that I am keeping near and dear to my heart, but here are some other names that I abso-frickin-lutely love! Alice (can't use due to our last name), Hazel, Ruby (not sure if she'll get the boobie Ruby association, but very unlikely due to my genes), Fiona, Wren & Lucy. Have a harder time with the boys but here are some that are on my list: Asher, Archer, Benjamin, Miles, Milo (my husband thinks of a girl when he hears this name -- whaaa?), Finn, James & Oliver

Are any of you on Twitter? I need new people to follow besides my celeb-list (the Kardashians, Perez Hilton, Us weekly, Rev Run, Bethenny Frankel, Giuliana Rancic, etc): my twitter name is lorieiko

Dear Governator, you are despicable. How in the world do you not only cheat on your wife, but father another son and NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT.

I'm loving Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert's wedding ... I am so in love with country weddings!

I'm still wearing my Sugar Lychee scent from Kaboodle -- such a unique and soft scent... easy to wear every day!

Speaking of perfume, I also wear Michael Kors ... what scent do you guys wear? Has anyone tried the Khloe Kardashian/Lamar Odom scent? I am intrigued.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

My baby and her baby

My girl chose her own dolly today. We had a Target excursion and just walked around together for an hour or so. She picked out this doll, an Elmo's World DVD and we sat, watched her new DVD and ate lunch together. Here she is leaving Target, taking her mommy-role very seriously.

Baby is now sitting in a stroller (little shopping cart) filled with blankets. Too funny!
